Kerutabs: just the right dose!
FCC (Food Chemicals Codex) is an internationally recognised standard for measuring lactase enzyme activity, among other things. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recommends a strength of FCC 4500 for a lactose-containing meal.
‘...The recommended dose is 4,500 FCC (Food Chemicals Codex) units with each lactose-containing meal. The dose may have to be adjusted to individual needs for lactase supplementation and consumption of lactose-containing products.’ EFSA - Scientific opinion
Kerutabs - FCC 4600 and KerutabsFORTE - FCC9200 contains exactly the right dosage advised by EFSA. If necessary, the dose can be adjusted to individual needs.
Healthcare professionals also recommend this dosage. The base dose is 4500FCC, doubled to 9000FCC if necessary
‘...For unexpected situations, lactase enzyme tablets are a practical solution. The recommended dose ranges between 4500 and 9000 FCC, to be taken just before consumption...’

Kerutabs, the highest quality and produced by certified companies in the Netherlands.
Unlike many other lactase enzyme pills, Kerutabs is produced by certified companies (FSSC 22000, SKAL and FDA-approved) under stringent requirements.
On the basis of profiled criteria each batch is assessed, including colour, smell, size, shape, weight, hardness and thickness of the tablet.
It also microbiological measurements performed on bacteria, yeasts and fungi. Prior to testing, method suitability must be demonstrated (Method Suitability Testing) to ensure that the microbial count is accurate in the presence of the product.
These tests are crucial to prevent products from being contaminated with microorganisms that could affect product quality or harm the user.
Also, each batch is checked for the absence of heavy metals such as lead, cadmium and mercury.
In low-wage countries, where many lactase enzyme tablets are produced, quality control of this standard does not take place.
It is not for nothing that doctors, dieticians and other healthcare professionals have relied on Kerutabs for many years. And rightly so!
In the laboratory, products are tested at every stage of the process. Work takes place in an exceptionally hygienic environment where raw materials are admitted to the production process only after a period of quarantine and extensive testing.
The Kerutabs products are certified in accordance with the HACCP food safety plan of the Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA).
The NVWA oversees the safety of food and consumer products, animal welfare and the protection of the natural environment. The HACCP food safety plan is a system required by law in the Netherlands to ensure that food is safe for consumption. It identifies all potential hazards (physical, chemical, microbiological) during the preparation process and sets out the measures to control these risks.
‘…Those who cannot tolerate dairy products do indeed run a higher risk of bowel cancer…’
From: interview in De Gelderlander newspaper, 11 February 2025 with Professor Ellen Kampman, nutrition and cancer expert, Wageningen University. At the time, she obtained her doctorate on the relationship between dairy products and bowel cancer.
Following a major British scientific study by Oxford University, the question was asked in this interview: Milk helps prevent bowel cancer, according to new research. ‘…Yes, that is a fact. The more dairy products someone consumes, the lower their risk of colon cancer….What is interesting about this study is that it also demonstrates the effect of lactose intolerance: people who cannot tolerate dairy products do indeed have a higher risk of colon cancer…’
Our response: So it is good to drink dairy products from time to time. Fortunately, Kerutabs can help people with lactose intolerance to do so.
